1. Preliminary Remarks

Secure passwords are important for more online security. Access to the plenigo backend is additionally secured by 2-factor authentication. For 2-factor authentication, a second, variable factor comes into play in addition to the password, which is necessary for a successful login. Therefore, a user name, password, and a one-time code must be entered. The latter is generated by an app and is only valid for a short time in each case. We strongly recommend using 2-factor authentication for the plenigo live system.

2. Set Up Two-Factor Authentication for Users

In the contracting company in the security settings, a two-factor authentication can be activated for all Merchant Backend users.

The Google Authenticator App could be used, for example.
The process for logging in using a two-factor authentication looks as follows:

Setting up the two-factor authentication
In the login interface to the plenigo system, the Merchant Backend user enters their username and passowrd. A second window opens in which the QR code must be scanned with any authenticator app. The authenticator app automatically generates a 2FA token that can be entered into the field.

Two-factor authentication for the next login

When the user logs in the next time, they don't have to scan the QR code again. The user must open the authentication app and enter the generated code.
