1. Preliminary Remarks
In the contracting company in the Emergency Mode menu item,
- the admin can reset passwords.
- the admin can activate the emergency mode.
To get access to this function, the admin who is logged in must enter their password again.
2. Reset Passwords
In cases in which it is necessary to protect customer accounts, all of the customers' passwords can be reset.
Customers then have to assign a new password. In a technical view, they could use the same password as before, however, we really recommend to use a new password.
3. Activate Emergency Mode
In the emergency mode, all connections via the plenigo API are blocked.
The API access tokens created in the system are deactivated. All functions connected to the plenigo iframes (login, checkout, self service, etc.) are deactivated.
The API access tokens created in the system are deactivated. All functions connected to the plenigo iframes (login, checkout, self service, etc.) are deactivated.
Further impacts:
- Customers can no longer log in their accounts. Instead a certain error message is displayed.
- All active customer sessions for the customer API are deactivated.
- Furthermore, the emergency mode can impact third systems which process data from the plenigo system through an API access token.
An activated emergency mode leads to the plenigo Self Service not being available anymore for the customers. This can lead to issues and a higher volume of service and support requests by affected users. To handle this situation and to inform your customers, we suggest the following procedure:
- Create your own transfer token via https://api.plenigo-stage.com/#tag/Sessions/operation/createTransferToken.
You can find further information on handling sessions and transfer tokens within the plenigo Self Service here. However, as all connections to the API have been blocked, an error 400 is displayed. - Various ways of dealing with/reacting to error message 400 are then conceivable:
- displaying an individual error message, such as "Sorry. Our service is currently unavailable."
- redirecting to another landing page
