1. Preliminary Remarks

Address validation is an additional module that is subject to a charge. Settings can only be made here after purchase or activation.
The address validation module can be used to check postal addresses from 240 countries worldwide. The address is checked both when billing and/or delivery addresses are entered for the first time and when they are subsequently changed - this ensures that only valid addresses are entered.
This module uses the Byteplant GmbH service. Byteplant is a company based in Germany that operates in accordance with the standards of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG). No addresses are processed and stored for purposes other than validation. At no time is customer data passed on to third parties.
All data provided to Byteplant GmbH via this module is automatically deleted within 14 days.

2. Settings for Address Validation 

After successful purchase of the module it must be activated in the settings in the contracting company.
The slider Active activates or deactivates the address validation for all address forms.
If Validate Invoice and Delivery Address is selected, both addresses are always be requested and checked. Only one of both options can be selected.

Note: These settings apply to all clients. The settings can be overwritten in the client and therefore be individually adjusted.

In the client:
In the client, address settings can be indiviudally set at offers in the detail view via the action bar.


3. Example

Merchant Backend
In case of unknown address, an error message is displayed in the Merchant Backend:
If a potential typo has been detected, the address is corrected. It is recommended to check it.

Self Service
In case of unknown address, an error message is displayed in the Self Service:
