1. Preliminary remarks
To be able to connect PayPal to the plenigo Merchant Backend, a PayPal Business Account must be created.
PayPal provides comprehensive resources for activating an account.
2. Create a PayPal Business Account
- Open the following link: https://www.paypal.com/de/home
- Click on Sign Up.
- Select Business.
- Fill in the form.
- Follow the account activation assistant.
This step can also be skipped and carried out at a later time. - Open the registration mail in your mail box.
- Click on the link to verify your email address.

3. Create Rest API
For the stage system in the plenigo merchant backend, the API must be created in the sandbox mode.
For the live system in the plenigo merchant backend the API must be created in the live mode.
- Open the following URL: https://developer.paypal.com/developer/applications/
- Click on Apps & Credentials tab.
- Click on Create App.
- Enter an App Name.
- Click on Create App to save the App.
In the details, the API credentials can be called for API calls and transactions.
