1. Preliminary Remarks
Product contracts are required for creating subscriptions and contain the essential conditions of the offer.
Product contracts are then added to the offer during offer creation.
The usecases provided in another article can help to better understand how the information from the product contract is reflected in sales.
Note: Since Release B.3.2421.0, product contracts are also required for credit-based subscriptions. |
2. Create a Time-Based Product Contract
- Click on + Add Time Based Contract.
- Enter Internal Title*.
- Optionally, define an Internal Description and sort into a folder structure.
- Determine Runtime*.
- Until Cancellation: Runtime only ends when the subscription is cancelled.
- Fixed Period X days/weeks/months/years: Runtime ends after the determined time.
- Accounting Period* determines the period (X days/weeks/months/years) in which the billing takes place
- Cancellation*: Cancellation until X days/weeks/months/years before the end of the subscription interval
- Subscription interval* determines the frequency with which the subscription is renewed.
- Price sheet* can be created either beforehand or by clicking on + during the creation of the product contract.
- IVW Rules can be added optionally.
- Reporting Tags can be added optionally.
Note: When creating time-based product contracts, there are certain restrictions regarding the combinations of time of accounting period and subscription interval that can be used. In general: Compatible time frame combinations are: year + month, weeks and days as well as identical time specifications (e. g. days and days). In addition, the accounting period must always be a multiple of the subscription interval (e. g. 1 year with 8 months does not work, as 8 months is not a multiple of 1 year or 12 months. Or 14 days and 8 days does not work, as 8 days is not a multiple of 14 days). |
