1. Preliminary Remarks
Customizable checkout variants can be created using the checkout editor.
Components such as the design, payment methods, content and addresses must first be configured so that these can simply be selected when creating the checkout variant.
Click here to create the variants: Create and Manage Variants
The preview window in edit mode and in the detailed view helps you to immediately recognize where which field is displayed in the checkout.
The folder structure can be used to sort the components in order to create a better overview and to be able to access the desired components more quickly.
2. Create Components
The appearance of the checkout can be customized using CSS or JavaScript. If no settings are made here, our standard design applies.
Our examples help you to make minor changes, such as color or font, very easily - even if you have no programming knowledge. >> to the code examples (LINK)
2. Payments
In Payments, you can determine which of the configured payment methods should be made available to customers.
The configured payment methods can be dragged and dropped from the left-hand side to the right-hand side and sorted there.
In addition, a payment method can be defined as a preselected option that is automatically preselected when the checkout is called up. Of course, the customer still has the option of choosing a suitable payment method if there are several payment methods.
-
Define fields: Decides which of the fields (title, voucher, order identifier, different billing email address and opt-in during checkout) should be shown or hidden.
Note: If Opt-In during checkout is selected, it must be ensured that an opt-in varian is maintained and activated in the menu item Settings > Applications > Opt-In.
-
Define Pronouns: Endecides which pronouns should be used to address customers - formal, neutral or personal. This function is currently only available for German and English.
This is reflected, for example, in the following texts:- personal: "Your Invoice Address"; "Please select a payment method."; "Enter your voucher code."
-
neutral: "Invoice Address"; "Select payment method"; "Enter voucher code"
-
Additional Information can be added if required.
This can be a general text that is to be used regardless of the offer and is to be displayed to customers when they call up the checkout.
For example: "We use your e-mail address to send you offers for similar products or services from our company. You have the option to object to this use at any time free of charge via the link."
In Addresses, you define which address fields should be displayed to customers when adding a billing and delivery address.
A distinction can be made between private customers (B2C) and corporate customers (B2B).
If Checkout for business customers only (B2B) is selected, the VAT identification number field is mandatory for both customer types.
Note: Selecting the fields does not automatically mean that these fields are mandatory. It merely means that they are displayed to the customer. Mandatory fields are highlighted in gray and cannot be removed. |
The following fields are marked as mandatory fields in the checkout by default in order to be able to request a complete address:
- Private Persons
- Salutation
- First and Last Name
- Postcode
- City
- Country
- Company
- Company Name (if first and last name are not activated)

3. Global Settings
The global settings apply to all checkout variants that are configured.
As there can only be one variant of the global settings, the folder structure is not available here.
The following settings can be made:
- Allowed Domains determines via which domain the checkout may be accessed.
- Allowed Countries determines in which countries the checkout may be called up.
- Contract Partner Text: A contract partner text can be maintained here, for example: "By completing the order, you confirm that you are entering into the contract with Muster GmbH and that you have read and accepted the GTC and Privacy Policy. The details of your subscription, such as duration, payment methods and notice periods, can be found in the order overview and the GTC."
