1. Preliminary Remarks
To create an offer, several offer components are required that have been created preferably before the offer creation. Some offer components can also be created during offer creation using the inline element. Some of them, however, need to be created beforehand.
The following deals with the necessary components of an offer, without which an offer cannot be created, and with additional components that are available but not essential for creating an offer.
All these components can be found in the Products menu item.
2. Required Offer Components
Single Products, Time Passes and Credit-Based Single Products
To create these offers, the following components are required:
The price sheet determines the price of the offer. It can either be created beforehand or during the offer creation. The price sheet cannot be changed after saving.
The access right determines which content the customers will have access to. It can either be created beforehand or during the offer creation.
It must be determined prior to the offer creation which tax type will be assigned to the offer. The tax type cannot be changed after saving. Find everything about taxes in the Merchant Backend in the menu item Settings > Finances > Tax Rates and Delivery Thresholds.
Price segments are not necessarily required. However, they are useful if different prices are to apply in different countries.
The wallet is only required for credit-based single product. It represents the “wallet” that is “filled” with the consumption units defined in the offer.
Subscriptions
To create subscriptions, the following components are required:
The product contract defines the general conditions of the subscription (notice period, runtime, accounting period and price). The product contract cannot be changed after saving.
For access rights, tax type and wallet, the same conditions apply as for the creation of single products.
The delivery list is mandatory for issue-based subscriptions so that the customers that have bought the offer get the issues delivered.
3. Additional Offer Components
For both single products (time passes and credit-based single products) and subscriptions, the following components can be useful, however, are not mandatory.
A misuse rule can be assigned to an offer within the offer creation. It prevents a new purchase of a free trial period, for example. This must first be defined in the corresponding menu item.
The accounting (ledgers and cost centers) is essential for correct bookkeeping. Cost centers and ledgers are maintained in the Accounting menu item and are assigned to the offer during offer creation.
